''No society can prosper if it aims at making things easier. Instead, it should aim at making people stronger.''
Ashoka the Great was one of the most powerful rulers of the Indian subcontinent. He was the grandson of the Chandragupta Maurya - founder of the Mauryan Empire and was the third king of the Mauryan Dynasty.
He took the Mauryan Empire to its greatest geographic extent and ruled most of the Indian subcontinent. He recognized for his renunciation of war, the promotion of Buddhism across ancient Asia, and sending Buddhist monks to several countries.
Ashoka is also remembered for the edicts into rock and pillars, and for establishing monuments in the life of Gautama Buddha.

JP, one of the greatest political leaders in the history of modern India, who actively participated in three popular movements of the country - Quit India Movement, Bhudan Movement, and led the movement against corruption and Emergency - was born in 1902, in Saran district of Bihar. He was educated at Berkley university in the U.S. where he became a follower of Karl Marx. Upon his return to India in 1929, he joined the Indian National Congress and was mentored by Mahatma Gandhi. His commitment to cause of poor made him join Bhudan movement with Vinoba Bhave. He was awarded Bharat Ratna in 1999
